Nós
Latin definition: we (pl.), us
Nós means in Portuguese a knot and also ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘a group of people’.
Let’s imagine here we are weaving our lives with a group of knots.
We are a group of nine women who grew up together, always sharing smiles, secrets, disappointments and most of our first experiences in life. We could weave the most fascinating stories, which included adventures, mysteries and comedies. Nós (we) were different, imperfect but always stronger together.
As life passes by and we become adults, disconnection often happens. In this imagery, each person is both needle and thread. People are woven into the fabric that becomes our own lives and we are woven into theirs. The disconnections here were always followed by a reconnection and our knots (nós) always remind strongly. In this weaving, we - Ana and Vanessa - want to use knots (nós) to represent our connections and disconnections. These knots (nós) are mixed in a sometimes chaotic and sometimes beautiful way, but it always means the presence of life.
Nós is a collaborative collection that uses ‘knots’ (nós) to celebrate one of the most sacred connections we have in our life: our friendship. Thank you for supporting our knots (nós) and welcome to our world.
